Humans and societies function within cycles that are mirrored in the sky by the locations of the planets and the Moon going around the Sun. Just as it is possible to consider the basic personalities of the people invited to a party and predict what kind of party might result, it is possible to use planetary analysis to anticipate the qualities of the human social field on Earth during a given period of time. Astrology can predict how individuals might be feeling, just by knowing the archetypal influence of each planet plus the Moon. Just like a wild rock-n-roll dance party is very different from a black-tie dinner party, life on Earth is very different during wartime than it is during peacetime. Astrology also states clearly when an influence begins and is finished; this makes it possible to look back or go forward in time to identify patterns. Meanwhile, the Elite (powers-that-be that control the world) debunk astrology while using it as a tool to predict human behavior to perpetrate their power games. This site observes how some global political powers use astrology to stay one step ahead of the people. Astrology is the highest art for analyzing human behavior, and smart people use it. AstroFlash! looks at how the Elite might be planning events for us during the end of the Mayan Calendar, and it offers tips on how to live better amidst such transformative times. Also, this astrological analysis includes the influences of the Days and Nights of the Galactic Underworld-1999-2011, based on Carl Johan Calleman's time acceleration hypothesis, which explores Nine Underworlds of evolution in the universe over 16.4 billion years. AstroFlash! explores how individuals can succeed and be free and happy during the remainder of the Mayan Calendar. How have we gotten to this critical juncture? Why are 1999 through 2011 so critical for the survival of our species? My recent book Catastrophobia (2001) theorizes that we are afflicted with a crippling, species-level, post-traumatic stress syndrome that I call "catastrophobia". This trauma complex developed 11,500 years ago as the result of a great cosmic catastrophe in our solar system. This malaise in the collective psyche of our species deepened during thousands of years after the 9500 BC cataclysm, when our ancestors endured starvation and horrific environmental stress. Before this time during the Regional Underworld-100,000 BC through AD 2011--Earth was the Garden of Eden; we experienced oneness with our planet. These events that separated us from nature are deeply buried in our minds. Just like adults who once endured early-childhood abuse that they've largely forgotten, we must heal ourselves by recovering these memories and understanding how they have changed us. Catastrophobia presents evidence that Earth's axis did not tilt very much before 9500 BC, when the cosmic disaster disarranged the whole solar system. Therefore, AstroFlash! is structured by seasonality--equinoxes and solstices-because once the axis tilted, early humans quickly learned how to maximize their potential by arranging their lives by the seasons. Seasonality is not taken into account much in modern times, but it actually has a huge influence on human consciousness. George W. Bush invaded Iraq exactly during the Spring Equinox of 2003 because the Elite knew this moment had formative potential. This was also Day Tree of the Galactic, so this invasion caused events that will influence the rest of the Galactic Underworld. Once Earth's axis tilted 11,500 years ago, the new seasons necessitated agriculture for human survival, and gradually hunter-gatherer cultures gave up their ways of life that were in harmony with nature. Focus on the seasons and lunar cyles goes way back to more than 10,000 years ago, which is why AstroFlash! examines them in detail. I've discovered ancient ways to balance our consciousness by showing how to use the potentiality of each season with intention. I believe that we must utilize the potential of this quarterly pattern to slowly integrate our neurological systems with the changes caused by the recently tilting axis. Like Humpty Dumpty falling off his wall, we can't put ourselves back together again. We can use the cycles of the Moon to master our emotions very effectively when the lunar analysis is understood in light of the four seasons. This technique really helps us handle time acceleration. The great cataclysm disarranged the solar system and greatly disturbed many planetary patterns. For example, Uranus tilts 90 degrees on its axis. Uranus rules cultural transformations, and by its foundation chart, the United States is very influenced by Uranus. Now that we are moving into the Age of Aquarius, which Uranus rules, the USA is poised to become the global empire. AstroFlash! incorporates the birth chart of the USA in 1776, which is in the Methodology which follows. The ancients discovered they could assess politics realm by examining the conjunctions of Jupiter and Saturn every twenty years-the Trigons. The current Elite, the "Bushites", seized the agenda of the recent May 2000 Trigon. This has enabled them to run the show during the Galactic Underworld, so this site examines their obvious use of astrology. It offers advice on how individuals can get out of the way, as the so-called "leaders" create mass-trauma events, such a 9/11. These things are done because they stimulate catastrophobia and fear. AstroFlash! breaks the four seasons down into three lunar cycles within the context of major planetary transits. I offer some lunar and seasonal chart comparison with background charts (see Methodology) by means of combust (less than 1 degree by conjunction) aspects. We begin with how you can master seasonality. This is written for people north of the equator, yet if you live south of the equator, just reverse summer and winter. The New Year is not January 1st! The new year-the Spring Equinox-occurs around March 21, when the Sun enters 0 degrees Aries by geocentric astrology. For Earth, this is when the Sun is directly over the equator. Then it tracks north until it reaches the Tropic of Cancer at 0 degrees Cancer during the Summer Solstice around June 21. Then it turns back and crosses over the equator at 0 degrees Libra during to the Fall Equinox around September 23. It moves south of the equator until it reaches the Tropic of Capricorn at 0 degrees Capricorn on the Winter Solstice around December 21. Then the Sun seems to move north again for its return to the equator for the next Spring Equinox. Of course, the Sun only seems to move in this pattern from Earth's view, since the phenomena is caused by the tilt of Earth's axis as it orbits the Sun during a solar year. The modern calendar abuses our conciousness! The time to make plans for each year is during the Spring Equinox, not during the so-called "New Year". The most philosophical and spiritual time of the year is the Winter Solstice, which is reduced to addictions and consumerism by Christmas shopping, eating, and drinking. In fact, December 21st to March 21st, the last quarter of the year, is our yearly completion time. The special days and nights right before the Winter Solstice are the most mystical time of the year, and we should meditate for hours during this time. Then when the Sun is in Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces before the Spring Equinox, we should be deepening our understandings of all the things we have learned during the last nine months-the previous Spring Equinox to the Winter Solstice. The Spring Equinox is the time to identify the intentions we wish to fulfill during the four seasons. Ideas correctly seeded at the Spring Equinox manifest for a year, and I will offer instructions for correctly seeding ideas and manifesting them through the rest of the seasons. During the Summer Solstice, the time has arrived to birth these ideas into recognizable form, like a forming fetus. The Fall Equinox is the time to flesh out, balance, and assess these creations and to weed things out that just are not working. Then the Winter Solstice is the time to enter into deep contemplation to imagine how our personal creations assist others and the planet. The Winter Solstice is the time to be brutally honest and evaluate whether our ideas enhance others or whether they may actually be detrimental for evolution. A sweet elixir of knowing comes the day of the Winter Solstice when the light begins to return, and each one of us can put greater realities above our personal desires. It is no accident that in Western cultures commercial Christmas is inserted just when people are amazingly psychic and attuned! I suggest you cancel Santa Claus during the Winter Solstice and spend three months reflecting on what you've created during the year. Spring Equinox: March 20, 2008 / View Chart Spring is here! The Sun has just gone into Aries, the most potent time of the year to make big changes in your life. This is the time to work with three clear intentions that reflect your desires for the next stage of your growth. Then when summer comes, you can deepen and fully develop these desires, and during the fall, you can balance your creations with the other aspects of your life. When winter comes, it is time to contemplate your creations and to reflect on how they influence the fabric of all life. If you rearrange your life so that your new creativity comes in with the Spring Equinox every year, you will be amazed by how much more successful you are; you will love this powerful and easy flow with nature. I've never written about the creative potency of the Spring Equinox in any of my books. Now, after using this technique for many years, I see that it is an essential part of our preparation for the coming evolutionary leap during the end of the Mayan Calendar. We are coded with consciousness that responds to the cues in natural light. Until about 400 years ago, people arranged their lives around the seasons, and then the rise of industrialization in 1755 during the Planetary Underworld pulled people away from the land and their villages. [See The Mayan Code (2007) by Barbara Hand Clow, and The Mayan Calendar (2001 and 2004) by Carl Johan Calleman.] The beginning of the year shifted to January 1, and then more than a hundred years ago, electricity dulled our responses to natural and seasonal light even more. The worst thing about losing the flow with nature and the light is that just when people feel like going into deep contemplation during the Winter Solstice, Christmas and New Year's distracts them from deep attunement. They've made their New Year's resolutions, which usually fail, and then they get depressed in the winter! Then they miss the great potential of the Spring Equinox, when we are coded to co-create with god/nature. This loss of attunement with seasonality restricts our lives even more than not having enough money. After all, those with nothing can manifest very successfully just by knowing how to do this simple technique. Nature is organic, we are her children, and we have everything we need if we flow with her. This Spring Equinox reading offers you an overall sense of what will be going on for the next three months, which can enhance your ability to manifest. Of course, the New Moon in Aries always follows the Spring Equinox (the Sun's ingress into Aries), which is usually when the spring potential really takes off. This year things are different and quite fascinating. A really wild Full Moon in early Libra occurs a day and a half after this equinox, which will jump-shift its subtle balancing power. The Moon in Libra directly opposite the equinoctial Sun in early Aries will form a grand square to Mars in Cancer opposite Pluto in Capricorn. Whew! The Mars/Pluto opposition has been reflected in great financial tension during March, and the Full Moon forming a grand square to this opposition will tend to set off financial detonations that will play out all spring. What can you or I do? We can take advantage of the Sun going into Aries by aligning our creativity with it, and the intense Mars/Pluto opposition forming a T-square to the Sun can empower and deepen our work. Then during the Full Moon, on the day after the equinox, watch the fireworks! Even if you pay little attention to these astrological patterns, please list the three things you want to create during 2008, and consider visualizing these intentions to take advantage of the spring potential. How? In Alchemy of Nine Dimensions on pages 131-331, I described the most powerful manifestation technique I've ever found. Ideally, you can learn this technique and use it on your three spring intentions. Then just forget about them, put them away somewhere, and go about your business. I usually take my list of intentions out of our little manifestation box in the fall or winter. When we reviewed our 2007 intentions in January this year, Gerry and I were stunned to see that three seemingly impossible intentions had definitely manifested exactly as we described them. To be truthful, I am still testing and evaluating this technique. If you decide to use the manifestation technique described in Alchemy this spring, be very careful about deciding exactly what you want to create because these things will happen. Are you sure you'd really want these things if you could have them? George Bush invaded Iraq right during the 2003 Spring Equinox, and now we are going into the sixth year of this ugly occupation, which is draining the US Treasury and assets of Americans. He chose that moment because he knew it would create a long-lasting occupation. Since then, Bush's cronies have been lining their pockets with money from weaponry and contractors while controlling a major source of oil. Considering what the US might be creating this spring, the chart is cast for Washington, DC. You will have to adjust the exact time of the Spring Equinox according to your local time. The first thing in the chart that pops out for me is Pluto in Capricorn opposite Mars in Cancer forming a tight square to the equinoctial Sun, and the tight trine from Saturn in early Virgo to Pluto. During this spring and nearly to the fall, Pluto has a very special ally, Saturn in Virgo-responsibility par excellence-trining Pluto in Capricorn-total restructuring of all systems. Pluto completed its conjunctions to the Galactic Center in November 2007, which opened our galactic consciousness. Then Pluto moved into Capricorn late January 2008, where it will be until 2024, except for a brief dip back into Sagittarius in 2008. Pluto in Capricorn is already inspiring deep transformations of cultural and monetary systems, which is a much-needed process for the radical evolutionary shift that is called for during the end of the Mayan Calendar. It is significant that the beginnings of this intense shifting are so greatly influenced by the trine from Saturn in pristine, picky Virgo. For example, this trine makes people feel good about rooting out the destructive male-dominant patterns that are being transmuted during the Galactic and Universal Underworlds. Saturn is fruitful and feminine in Virgo, and this long-lasting trine (lengthened by Saturn's retrograde and Pluto's 240-year orbit) fully releases Pluto's legendary chthonic transformational powers. Pluto remakes worlds by holding the goddess Persephone in the underworld as his consort for half the year, and then she returns to her mother Demeter in the spring. This year, a few days after the last Mars/Pluto opposition on March 7, Eliot Spitzer released the goddess, which is why his trysts with prostitutes attracted so much attention. When Saturn is in Virgo every 29 to 30 years, orderly and simple ways to live become the main focus, and the crazy ways of living that were admired during Saturn in Leo look tawdry and risky. Saturn transiting Virgo allows us to heal our families and communities; I forecast that piercing and tattoos will not be so commonplace now. Saturn's trine to Pluto offers the ideal support (through June 2008 when Pluto briefly dips back into Sagittarius) for the structural transformations of outmoded systems at the end of the industrial age. Radical changes will really kick into gear in November 2008 when the painful Night Five cleansing is finally over. [See The Mayan Code and The Mayan Calendar.] Careful and respectful ways to change the world are favored by this firm and earthy trine. More women will emerge as leaders, since it is in their nature to be respectful of Earth and to protect future generations. As in the case of Spitzer, the war in Iraq, and financial decay, more and more people will see that the root of current societal degradation is deeply endemic patriarchal control patterns, and nature's resonance with the goddess will emerge as they are released. The Calleman/Clow cosmic view of the Mayan Calendar helps us to see that the enlightenment of the human species is coming very rapidly now, which is why there is so much chaos. Yet, I will not mince words and avoid speaking the truth about what we face right now: Night Five-late 2007 through most of 2008-is the darkest hour of all the Nine Underworlds. To comprehend what this might mean for us, we need to look at two recent Night Fives during previous Underworlds. During the 5125-year National Underworld, Night Five was AD 434-829: the infamous "Dark Ages" in the West. Culture collapsed and people struggled to survive. During the 256-year Planetary Underworld, Night Five was 1932-1952: the Great Depression, Hitler, and WW II. This was one of the darkest and most insecure periods in recent times. Due to the rapid time acceleration of the Galactic Underworld since 1999, we are transmuting the events of 434-829 and 1932-52 during only 360 days (November 19, 2007, through November 12, 2008). It is the darkest hour of the Galactic Underworld, yet it lasts for less than one year and it is already one third over. By the grace of the goddess of the grain, Virgo, this beautiful grounded and sensible trine between Saturn and Pluto is really helping us with the hard times by making us feel like being practical and even gentle. Jupiter is in Capricorn-encouraging practicality, wisdom, and frugality-until early 2009, and it will retrograde in early May 2008. Jupiter and Pluto together in Capricorn are really inspiring us during this darkest hour at the end of the Mayan Calendar. Honest and philosophical folks are discovering unknown strength in themselves, while the liars and shallow folks are getting a big wakeup call. During December 2007, Jupiter and Pluto joyously came together in Sagittarius, right on the Galactic Center, while the blue Comet Holmes streaked toward the Sun. Some people felt hopeful about a new future, which could be seen in the new political possibilities in the US presidential primaries; cosmic evolution was awakening Earth. The old destructive ways of life are crashing and burning, new paths are opening, and it is hard to be alive now. The collapse of a large construction tower in New York City was a stunning symbol for the radical levels of change we are experiencing, and the Spring Equinox chart offers us hints of how things may be going. The Sun in Aries forms a T-square to Mars in Cancer opposite Pluto, a tense and aggressive configuration. As we seize the agenda and create new ways with the Sun in Aries, Pluto in Capricorn pushes for deep restructuring of civilization during the end of the Mayan Calendar, and Mars in Cancer pushes for security and comfort at any cost. In the US, some politicians fight to change the direction of the country, while others cry out for the same old thing. People struggle to hold onto their homes and pay the rising energy costs; they are pulled back and forth by knowing change must come but they feel safer with the same old ways. The Spring Equinox chart suggests the housing and financial crisis will explode this spring. Jupiter in the USA 1776 chart is exactly conjunct Mars in the Spring Equinox chart. With Jupiter/Venus in Cancer in the 7th house of the 1776 chart, the US always seeks its own security first. Americans seek home ownership while their government is destroying homes in other countries. Then with Mars in Gemini also in 7 and square to Neptune in Virgo in 9, the US is fantasy-ridden and does not see the harm it causes for almost everybody else. America claims the right to attack anybody in the world to defend its own interests, and this stance will be severely challenged this spring. This equinox is going to expose the extent of American aggression. As the US begins year six of the War in Iraq, the difficult Mars-in-Cancer transit is all tied up with the 1776 chart; the US will be very aggressive and destructive in the Middle East while a financial collapse spreads. Saturn in Virgo quincunxes the Sun moving into Aries, which will strengthen factions in the US that object to this policy, especially women. And, as already explained, Saturn's trine to Pluto enhances the potential for people who object to these worn-out patterns. The period from the equinox through early April is going to be especially tense because Mars comes to the Sun in Cancer in the 1776 and George W. Bush's charts. As I've said many times, a financial collapse in the US may be the only thing that can stop American aggression overseas, and I think the Spring Equinox chart predicts just such a great challenge to American power in the world and at home. From radio shows and from talking to individuals, I hear great concern about this situation. My answer is, What if the US continued to get away with these abuses? What if the US did become the global empire? Some of the other placements in the chart indicate how we will feel in the middle of this great crisis. Mercury is conjunct Venus in Pisces opposing Saturn and the Moon in 12 Virgo, which suggests we will be feeling vulnerable and frustrated, yet also compassionate towards others. Please rest as much as you can. There is not a lot anybody can do when Humpty Dumpty falls off the wall, and the cute little Humpty Dumpty from Texas with pointed ears never even realized he was on a wall-nor how tall it was! It is time to focus on your personal reality and change things right at home. That is why the spring manifestations are so important this year. Chiron and Neptune are approaching the North Node of the Moon in Aquarius, and so idealism and healing will be valued and emphasized, even though the overall scene will be very tense and distracting all spring. The Moon in Virgo trines Jupiter in Capricorn, and so practical measures feel very natural and soothing this spring. Go chop some wood and dig in the garden! Jupiter closely sextiles Uranus in Pisces, which suggests the changes that do come will be grounded and practical and will reflect our ideals. This sextile may suggest some shifting in the world religions that could be positive. On the day after the equinox, the Aries/Libra Full Moon will tend to detonate a lot of the tensions we can see in the Spring Equinox chart. At this point we can be grateful for the Jupiter/Uranus sextile to help us flow with change, even changes we do not like. It would be smart to watch what is going on very closely on March 20/21 as the harbingers for the whole spring. During this spring and summer, some remarkable and long-lasting transits to the lunar North Node will be our karmic guides. The more that individuals and societies follow the North Node's agenda day by day, the easier it is to change and transform. The agenda of the North Node in Aquarius is to choose altruism and let go of ego, to think of others first instead of always trying to get what you want. During this spring equinox, Chiron (healing issues) and Neptune (awakening spirituality) are both in Aquarius and approaching the North Node, the soul's path. During the spring New Moons, Neptune and Chiron get closer to the North Node and eventually conjunct it. Chiron and Neptune are still close to the North Node during the summer solstice and afterwards. What could this mean? The North Node in Aquarius is an eighteen-month period (December 2007-August 2009) when people seek the highest ideals for the world. With Chiron on the North Node in Aquarius, we can heal trauma from past lives and early childhood, even old unprocessed wounds from the Dark Ages, Great Depression, and Hitler's Germany. That is, we are being challenged this spring to heal the deepest levels of pain that we have ever experienced. Neptune in Aquarius transiting the North Node suggests that our personal healing will come out of a newly awakened global spirituality, the new era of enlightenment prophesized to come with the end of the Mayan Calendar. I believe we will do this. Whew! What a way to spend the spring! Make good and strong intentions during the equinox, and you will be so busy seeding them and nurturing them into new little plants that you won't even notice what is going on in the big world out there. Your spring work is the time to make reality be what you want it to be. On this sixth anniversary of Bush attacking Iraq, nothing you can come up with will be as bad as that, so create new things with great heart and a humble mind! Taurus New Moon: May 5, 2008 View Chart During the New Moon in Taurus, it is time to ground and assess your personal goals. What are your core values? What makes your heart sing? This evaluation will be exceptionally natural during this New Moon: Pluto is in Capricorn trining Saturn in Virgo trining Venus in Taurus-in other words, a beautiful grand trine in the element of earth. Neptune in Aquarius exactly conjuncts the lunar North Node, an extremely potent combination that announces, "Manifest your spiritual desires!" Actions will flow easily and harmonically. This combination of practicality and spiritual wisdom encourages you to shift into wise and advanced levels of consciousness. Life is easier that way, the real secret. If you work on your own material issues with the greater good in mind during this lunation, you will be greatly rewarded. There is great potential during this lunation for a significant collective knowing, a return to caring and generosity among people. This shift will not be visible in the media, the great crafty modern lie, so make sure you are experiencing the unfolding story in your personal life. This New Moon is very inspiring, a high-level drama that began during the previous Full Moon. You may remember that I called the previous New Moon (Aries), the "Chaos New Moon" because it indicated that a bifurcation, a splitting, would occur during the month. We can test this interpretation by observing what happening during the April 20 Full Moon, so let's look back. The evening of this Full Moon, I found myself taken over by the most powerful Earth being I have ever encountered. She just ripped through my body and mind and screamed out for human accountability with Nature. The next day I was still shaking, and then I noticed that various aspects of the world around me seemed to be really changing. A lot of my contacts said they felt just plain crazy. They could feel connected with many dimensions, yet dysfunctional systems were crumbling around them. They found it easier to walk in many worlds while feeling very present in the moment. Then, suddenly they'd feel vacant and lost as if they'd just walked through a door without noticing it was there. The April Full Moon was in 1 Scorpio, and the May Full Moon will be in 29 Scorpio. Therefore, the grounding/regeneration powers of Taurus/Scorpio are doubled, which suggests more bifurcation. Two Taurus/Scorpio Full Moons in 2008 forces us to ground and purify our material reality. This will push us to be very honest about whether we are living the way we really want to live. You may have found yourself cruelly assessing your life and disciplining yourself to change much more than usual. These two Full Moons in earth and water are beautifully facilitated by Pluto's long-term trine to Saturn during this spring and summer, which makes 'a great cleansing' feel very natural. Specifically, during the first Scorpio Full Moon in April, the Sun in Taurus formed a grand trine to Saturn trine Pluto, while the Full Moon in Scorpio formed the top of a kite to the grand trine. Powerful earth energy just shot through my body, and it felt like it was flowing through the dimensions and shifting the DNA of all the species on the planet. Now, during the Taurus New Moon, Venus in Taurus forms a grand trine-Venus trine Saturn trine Pluto-which activates feminine harmony and beauty amidst the potent and effective systems processing this spring. Jupiter in Capricorn widely trines the New Moon in Taurus, thus practicality and wisdom will come to our aid in finances. We are in the middle of a long-term systemic financial cleanout, and this lunation is a great time to make adjustments in light of it. Jupiter and Saturn are involved in an interesting earthy dance right now, so let's look at it: Jupiter will retrograde May 9 at 22 Capricorn, and it will move all the way back to 12 Capricorn, when it will go direct on September 7. Capricorn rules Saturn, and so this Jupiter retrograde says: use Saturn to clean up your act! You might as well learn this because Pluto in Capricorn until 2024 is going to transform anything that is not useful to the collective and Nature. For example, I welcome gas costing more than $4 if that is what it will take to get affluent countries to conserve. Saturn's effectiveness is blossoming into this New Moon because Saturn on May 2 went direct at 2 Virgo. Now, we are really going to respect the material world with all that it can give and take away-the fabled cleansing. So, if gas does go up to $4 and more, then recreational driving will go down, while necessary driving will continue. People who need gas to get to work will be enraged by gas-hogging off-the-road vehicles, Hummers, and RVs. People will demand decent public transportation, will car-pool more, and will move closer to their jobs. Mysterious and evocative Neptune in Aquarius sits right on the lunar North Node, which creates a massive and subtle opening to all the hidden dimensions. Chiron is close to the North Node/Neptune, which means we sense that the freedom to travel in these worlds can heal. Chiron will sit on the North Node during late May through October, which will cause the people to want freedom more and more. Our cells will pick up these nuances with Uranus in Pisces sextiling Jupiter in Capricorn; we will feel that freedom is a spiritual choice. Neptune and Uranus in mutual reception (in each other's signs-Neptune in Aquarius since 1998 and Uranus in Pisces since 2004) have been opening the nine dimensions and awakening compassion in our hearts. This New Moon reveals many practical ways to bring through these forces to free our planet and our selves. These are the times etched in our planet's records that try human souls. During the last phase of the Mayan Calendar, Uranus and Neptune's mutual reception (as well as Pluto on the Galactic Center moving on to the cardinal angles) represent the archetypal gods. We need a more concrete sense of just what might be going on during these amazing days, and Mars has been a key actor during the last year. If you have been following this website, you will know that due to a winter retrograde, Mars, the god of war, has been heavily influencing Cancer for more than six months. Mars normally transits a given sign of the Zodiac for about two months. The 1776 founding chart of the USA (Sibley) has Mars in Gemini, and then Venus, Jupiter, Sun, and Mercury in Cancer. The long Mars transit has been heavily influencing these planets in the USA chart. Mars went into Cancer September 2007 and moved to 12 Cancer in mid-November, and then retrograded. 12 Cancer is the placement of the USA and George W. Bush Sun signs, and Bush's popularity and the world's respect for the USA has been plummeting because Mars possesses him. Mars moved back into Gemini and came close to the USA Mars where it went direct in late January 2008, when anti-war fervor and American aggression in the world were increasing. Again, Mars in 12 Cancer crossed the USA/Bush Suns in early April 2008, and the Bush/ Petraeus "surge" fell apart. Iraq became violent again and the American efforts in Afghanistan deteriorated, while the USA threatened Iran. I am detailing this for you one last time here because Mars has just passed the USA Mercury, and 71% of Americans disapprove of Bush's presidency! Mars goes into Leo on May 9 exactly when Jupiter retrogrades. With Mars in Leo, Jupiter retrograde in Capricorn, and Saturn direct in Virgo, a reckoning is coming. It can't be stopped under these influences so strongly in place. All of them tell a consistent story-get real! So, observe the nature of larger events, yet, bring thrift and community into your life. The dinosaurs thrashing and battling on TV are for entertainment only. Mars in late Cancer is quincunx Neptune on the lunar North Node. Cancer rules security and nurturance, and so a significant number of people will see that war is the ultimate destroyer of personal security. War and pain have been part of our evolutionary path, but we are about to complete it. For example, huge numbers of veterans are wounded for life in their minds and bodies, and they might start a protest movement under this last salvo of Mars in Cancer. Also, Mars is opposite Jupiter in Capricorn (exact April 24) for the last time, so we will have one final look at these three oppositions. Last month, the New Moon in Aries was in a T-square to Mars opposite Jupiter, which brought up significant issues around war. This T-Square was very formative because: 1) we began a new Tzolkin Round a day after the New Moon (One Alligator); and 2) we are in the middle of Night Five ruled by Tezcatlipoca, the god of war-that is Mars! To be honest, I was very worried about just how violent things would get during this lunation. Even though things became more violent, there is a building movement for peace that is affecting all the countries in the world, even Israel/Palestine. Mars opposed Jupiter in August 2007 and December 2007, when the world and Americans were rising against Bush's agenda. Now that the last opposition passed on April 24, the worst threats of greater aggression, such as a nuclear incident, may be over. As I have said for a few years, perhaps an economic crash is the only thing that will force the USA to lay down its arms. Once Mars goes into Leo and Jupiter retrogrades until September, the Federal Reserve and the government may not be able to hold up against the tsunami of bankruptcies, and maybe peace will spread country by country. The Full Moon on May 19-20 aspects the Pleiades and forms a T-square to Saturn in early Virgo. This means we will receive wonderful cosmic guidance during this lunation. As the Pleiadians have often said through Barbara Marciniak, "Your freedom ends where you fear begins." Now it is time to master fear and get involved in the rising tide of freedom that can overwhelm the global elite if each one of us will just join in. The mid-point of the Fifth Night is May 16, when we should experience significant relief from the dark forces that have been so stressful this winter. The May 19-20 Full Moon, just after the midpoint of Night Five, will encourage significant bifurcation. Use the subtle powers of Saturn newly direct in Virgo to create the world you want in the dying ashes of the Planetary and National Underworlds during the end of the Mayan Calendar.
